General Information for Sikinos

Sikinos Another Cycladic island for quiet relaxing vacations. Ideal for walks and swimming in beautiful clear waters. In recent years, Sikinos, is being developed for tourism and it shows great promise. The island has been inhabited since the Mycenean Period and it ows its name to Sikinos, who was the son of the mythical king of Lemnos,Thoa.

Hora or Kastro, one of the loveliest Cycladic towns. Its stone-built mansions with the arched windows and the picturesque narrow little streets present a very charming picture indeed. The social life of the locals (approximately 230 inhabitants) and visitors is confined in the plateia/square of Hora.

Ano Pronoia is another settlement and the port of the island, 3.5 miles from Hora.
